ROSIE was recently re-homed but sadly had to return. Her new owners were distraught beyond words at having to do this to her, as they found her to be the most loving, loyal and affectionate dog indoors they could have ever wished to come across.
They found her to be playful, obedient and extremely well-mannered, but their problems and reason for return were her behaviour outside the home. She is like a dog-possessed at the sight of cat, and due to the sheer volume of other dogs in the vicinity, she lunged and pulled constantly to get to the other dogs, but not in a friendly way.
She was better-behaved for the male owner, and tried it on more with a female handler. This problem was also the reason she returned from her first home, as they found in the end, taking her out for walks became a living nightmare and not a pleasure.
However, in fairness to Rosie, this behaviour is not mirrored here on her walks. She is lead & harness-walked daily, and does have her dislikes of certain dogs, but will walk happily side by side with others without problem, so we feel that here we do not have the problem because she is used to the dogs around her.
Rosie is going to need an experienced home, where she is either walked on a muzzle or away from other dogs, remaining on a lead at all times.
She is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Sharpei, spayed etc. She is also crate-trained, travels well and house-trained.
