UPDATE: THOMAS has not been himself for the last few days, and it was definitely not heat related, so we took him to the vets last night for blood tests.
He has 4 significantly raised liver enzymes so we will be starting him on a course of tablets for 2 weeks and review the situation after that. Where he had his cancerous lump removed from the base of his penis there is signs of a possible regrowth but this could also be scar tissue, again this will be investigated in more depth in 2 weeks.
We did not want Thomas to be going through any of this whilst still in kennels but no one has come forward to offer the little man a comfy home, despite many appeals, for the duration of his time left (which could be months or a year or more), which is so so sad.
About Thomas - he is 8 years-old and needs to be the only pet in the home, no young children. He now loves his cuddles, is in his element trotting round the garden and will play with a little rubber ball. Markies are his favourite treat but he does food guard. He is house trained, neutered and chipped.
